We are working on a collaboration application using Flash Media Server (previously, Flash Communication Server or FCS). We needed this capability so we could share PowerPoint files keeping PowerPoint animations in place. With Macromedia Breeze setting the standard (after they acquired Presedia a few years ago), PowerPoint to Flash has become a highly coveted feature for such applications.
Searching on Google with any of the following keywords, ppt2flash, ppt2swf powerpoint2flash etc., I found quite a few products claiming to have this capability. I also found a few companies offering this SDK. authorPOINT guys are offering a SDK which seems to work pretty well. I would have rather preferred Articulate's SDK (if it was available) but seems they don't want to sell theirs. Anyway, authorPOINT SDK seems to be working fine with our product. Although it doesn't convert all PowerPoint animations, it converts the most used ones.
